I grew up on trail bologna in Ohio. Every grocery store carried it. After moving out of state I tried every kind of coarse bologna I could find trying to find a subsitiute as trail bologna was only avaiable in Ohio. I tried dozens of different bands with no luck. For years you could not ship this bologna out of state. A few years ago it became available for shipping. I was as happy as a tick at a dog show. I now order several rounds at a time. Cut them in half, vacuum seal the individual halves and freeze them. It freezes very well. Every few months I thaw half a round out in the fridge and enjoy it for several weeks. This is more of a treat than steak.
Have not had any. Bought for husband, he says it is great.
I grew up in Ohio and loved trail bologna. Moved to MI and was never able to find it. Goes great with Swiss Cheese... and beer!! ;-)
Great for snacks and for cheese platter. Fun to stack a cracker with cheese and a green stuffed olive just for fun. We tried slicing thin and frying lightly in skillet with potatoes, easy and tasty.
I grew up in OHIO and ate this all my life. When we lived in W Pa we would drive to buy it and other products. Now I live in AZ, driving is not an option to buy it now so really happy I found a place that will ship it to me.
