Keeping Your Cheese Cool: Our Summer Shipping Policy

Keeping Your Cheese Cool: Our Summer Shipping Policy

With summer comes sunshine, cookouts, and... sweltering temperatures. As much as we all love the warmth of summer, it doesn’t play nicely with handcrafted, farm-fresh cheese. That’s why Simply Cheese has a special shipping policy for the hotter months—to ensure your cheese arrives in perfect condition, just as it left our hands in Northern Ohio.

Summer Shipping Restrictions

To protect your order from melting or spoilage, we limit shipping to locations within a 1–2 day transit window from our Ohio location. This generally includes much of the Midwest and parts of the Northeast. If you're unsure whether your location qualifies, check the UPS map on our shipping page for a quick confirmation.

Why the change?

Cheese is a living, delicate food. In extreme heat—especially in areas with temperatures over 100°F—it only takes a few hours in the wrong conditions for a great cheese to go bad. Until the weather cools down, we hold off on shipping to farther regions to maintain our commitment to quality and food safety.

How to Insure Cheese Survival

Even for 1–2 day zones, we encourage you to add an insulated carton to your order to ensure freshness. We ship early in the week to avoid weekend delays and monitor weather forecasts closely. In short: we treat your cheese like it’s our own.

Alternatives for Warm-Weather Customers

  • Check back in the fall! We’ll resume broader shipping once temperatures drop.
  • Sign up for our email list to be the first to know when full shipping resumes.
  • Choose Second-Day Air shipping. Yes, it's expensive, but cheese is worth it!

Thank you for your understanding as we put care and quality first.

Stay cool,

The Simply Cheese Team
