Because our products are perishable, we do not accept returns. However, we guarantee every shipment. If there is a problem with delivery or with the quality or condition of your cheese, please contact us within 14 days of delivery and we will refund or reship. We want you to be completely satisfied with your Simply Cheese experience!

Shipping Cheese Safely Year-Round

We take great care to ensure your cheese and butter arrive in impeccable condition—especially during warm weather (70°F and above). To protect your order in transit, we use insulated shipping cartons and follow a carefully limited shipping schedule.

The following states require UPS 2nd Day Air shipping year-round: Arizona (AZ), California (CA), Florida (FL), Nevada (NV), New Mexico (NM), Texas (TX).

Warm Weather Shipping (May–September)

During the warmest months of the year we take additional steps to protect your cheese in transit.

• Tiered Cooler Fee: A cooler handling fee is automatically added to all summer orders to cover the cost of insulation and ice packs. The fee is tiered based on order size and will be shown at checkout.
• Faster Shipping When Needed: Some destinations may only ship using UPS 2-Day Air or Next Day Air to ensure your cheese arrives fresh (see above).
• States Requiring Expedited Shipping (May–September): Due to long transit times and extreme heat, the following states require Next Day Air or 2-Day Air during summer months: Arkansas (AR), Arizona (AZ), California (CA), Colorado (CO), Florida (FL), Idaho (ID), Kansas (KS), Louisiana (LA), Mississippi (MS), Montana (MT), Nebraska (NE), Nevada (NV), New Mexico (NM), North Dakota (ND), Oklahoma (OK), Oregon (OR), South Dakota (SD), Texas (TX), Utah (UT), Washington (WA), Wyoming (WY).

These precautions help ensure that your cheese arrives in the best possible condition.

Cooler Months (October–April)

During cooler months we ship to most locations across the United States via UPS Ground. While insulated packaging may not always be necessary during this time, we monitor weather conditions and transit times carefully. If temperatures or shipping delays could risk the quality of your order, we may reach out before shipping to discuss your options—such as holding your order until conditions improve, adding an insulated carton, or upgrading to expedited shipping.

Our goal is always the same: delivering cheese that arrives fresh and ready to enjoy.

When We Ship

To ensure freshness, we only ship orders on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. This prevents your cheese from sitting in a shipping facility over the weekend or during a holiday closure. Orders placed before noon on an eligible ship day often go out the same day, though this cannot be guaranteed. If your order would otherwise sit in transit over a weekend or holiday, we'll hold it until the next safe shipping day.

Product Availability & Substitutions

Every block of cheese we send is hand-packed with care, and we do our best to keep all your favorite cheeses in stock. From time to time, though, a certain variety may sell out faster than expected or be briefly unavailable from the creamery. When that happens, we will include a similar cheese in its place—another grass-fed, goat, or mild or sharp variety with a comparable flavor and texture. Our goal is to make sure your box still arrives tasting the way you hoped.

• Free Shipping: Orders $99+.
• Shipping Methods: UPS Ground (1–4 days depending on location), UPS 2-Day Air (2 days), or UPS Next-Day Air (1 day). UPS requires a physical address—no PO boxes.
• Order Timing: Orders placed before noon on an eligible ship day (Mon–Wed) often ship the same day, though this cannot be guaranteed.
