- Free Shipping: Orders $89+ (insulated cartons not included).
- Ship Days: Monday–Wednesday only — to protect freshness.
- Summer Cooler Fee: Automatically added June–September (tiered by order size).
- Substitutions: We will replace an out-of-stock cheese with a similar one. Opt out anytime by leaving a note at checkout.
- Our Guarantee: If something goes wrong with delivery or quality, contact us within 14 days of delivery and we’ll make it right—either with a refund or a replacement.
Returns
Because our products are perishable, we do not accept returns. However, we guarantee every shipment. If there is a problem with delivery or with the quality or condition of your cheese, please contact us within 14 days of delivery and we will refund or reship. We want you to be completely satisfied with your Simply Cheese experience!
Shipping — Please Review the Information Below Carefully
Shipping Cheese Safely Year-Round
We take great care to ensure your cheese and butter arrive in impeccable condition—especially during warm weather (70°F and above). To protect your order in transit, we use insulated shipping cartons and follow a carefully limited shipping schedule.
Summer Season (June–September)
To protect your cheese during the hottest months, we:
- Automatically include a tiered insulated cooler fee with every order.* This covers the cost of insulated cartons and cold packs—never profit.
- Limit shipping to destinations within a 1–2 day UPS Ground range from our northern Ohio location. (See UPS transit map below.)
- From June through September, we do NOT ship to the following states due to heat sensitivity and extended transit times: Arkansas (AR), Arizona (AZ), California (CA), Colorado (CO), Florida (FL), Idaho (ID), Kansas (KS), Louisiana (LA), Mississippi (MS), Montana (MT), Nebraska (NE), Nevada (NV), New Mexico (NM), North Dakota (ND), Oklahoma (OK), Oregon (OR), South Dakota (SD), Utah (UT), Washington (WA), Wyoming (WY).
- Important: During June–September, we do not ship to the states listed above even with UPS 2-Day or Next-Day Air.
- If you are located in one of these states, we kindly ask that you place orders between October and May. Thank you for your understanding and support as we protect the integrity of your order.
*The surcharge appears as a separate line item at checkout and ensures your order arrives fresh, safe, and ready to enjoy.
Rest of the Year (October–May)
Outside of the hottest months, we don’t automatically add a cooler, and we ship to the lower 48 states. However, we strongly recommend adding an insulated carton to your order if temperatures in your area are expected to exceed 70°F.
If we see temperatures that could risk the quality of your order and a cooler wasn’t added, we’ll reach out before shipping. We’d much rather cancel and refund your order than deliver a melted mess!
When We Ship
To ensure freshness, we only ship orders on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. This prevents your cheese from sitting in a shipping facility over the weekend or during a holiday closure.
Product Availability & Substitutions (Opt-Out Available)
Every block of cheese we send is hand-packed with care, and we do our best to keep all your favorite cheeses in stock. From time to time, though, a certain variety may sell out faster than expected or be briefly unavailable from the creamery. When that happens, we will include a similar cheese in its place—another grass-fed, goat, or mild or sharp variety with a comparable flavor and texture. Our goal is to make sure your box still arrives tasting the way you hoped.
If you’d prefer not to receive substitutions, just leave us a note at checkout.
General Information
- Free Shipping: Orders $89+ (insulated cartons not included).
- Shipping Methods: UPS Ground (1–5 days), UPS 2-Day Air (2 days), or UPS Next-Day Air (1 day). UPS requires a physical address—no PO boxes.
- Order Timing: Orders placed before noon often ship the same day, though this cannot be guaranteed.
- Safe Shipping: If your order would otherwise sit in transit over a weekend or holiday, we’ll hold it until the next safe shipping day.
